What is this all about?

Chemicals

There is no getting away from the fact that all soap making is a chemistry process. BUT there are numerous additional chemicals added to commercial produced soap.

These range from synthetic fragrance and colour to harsh preservatives, pH balancers and lather controlling agents. Look out for ingredients such as tetrasodium EDTA, sodium Lauryl sulphate. I am sure if you take the time to read the ingredients of your body product you will be shocked to see what they include. Not only are many things added but even some of the beneficial by-products of soap making are extracted e.g. glycerin.

This is all done to make the commercial process more viable but unfortunately does little to enhance your bathing experience!

I am committed to bringing you a high quality, no gimmicks, product without the use of unwanted and unnecessary chemicals. Puritanics brings you truly handmade soap.

Quality

The same rules apply to soap making as to cooking and eating, good quality speaks volumes! Only good quality oils are used, some of which are organic.

Informed choice

My labels tell you exactly what is in your bar of soap. With the ingredients I have put the INCI name in brackets (the aim of this is to standardise the names of ingredients to help the consumer) alongside the more user friendly name. The potential allergens are listed at the end (These are naturally occurring in essential oils) and by law should be on all cosmetic packaging.

In time I hope my web site will be a great source of information. Please contact me with any of your queries. Finally my big hope is that my product speaks for itself!
